The EZM lens and system for Orthokeratology is a scientific
method of fitting and predicting the results of Orthokeratology.
The EZM System consists of:
EZM Calc
The results obtained from a corneal topographer
are entered into the EZM Calc program which details precisely
to the practitioner the EZM lens to use and the
visual and myopic reduction possible.
The EZM Lens
A unique reverse geometry lens manufactured from an
FDA approved material for extended wear. The unique feature of the
EZM lens is a peripheral band steeper than the base
curve and includes 3 fenestrations.
The EZM Lens is designed for overnight wearing. The EZM Lens moulds
and reshapes the cornea, so that normal vision without spectacles
or contact lenses is possible for all waking hours.
Most of the visual changes occur rapidly in the first few days and
weeks requiring frequest examination and possibly progressive lens
changes. Stabilisation procedures then follow at a slower pace over
the next few months. The program length varies depending upon the
degree of visual error and the rate of change.
After treatment and maximum results are achieved, lenses are worn
to maintain the new corneal shape. These are worn overnight. Failure
to wear the retainer lens on an ongoing basis will result in the
return to the pre-existing prescription.
This Orthokeratology procedure is non-invasive and is reversible
