Gelflex Specialty Lenses

For over 35 years Gelflex has been crafting specialty custom lenses to suit the needs of a wide range of ever changing customer needs. The range includes both soft and hard lenses, all individually tailored to customers requirements on one of Gelflex's quality electronic lathes.

Gas Permeable Lenses

Whilst the majority of patients are content to wear soft contact lenses, many require gas permeable lenses.

Gelflex has overcome the problem of poor initial comfort associated with gas permeable lenses by creating a range of high DK lenses that offer enhanced hydrophilic qualities through the use of a new generation material, resulting in a continually wet surface.
Gelflex has introduced its own plasma treatment process, further enhancing initial patient comfort.

The benefits of Gelflex GP Lenses include:

  • Aspherical back surface geometry for enhanced stability and comfort.
  • Optimal edge design for true comfort.
  • Excellent reproducibility every time.
  • High oxygen permeable material.
  • Superior tear exchange, which means healthier eyes.
  • Stable centering and easy fitting for optimal optical results.
  • Plasma treated for enhanced initial comfort.

The Gelflex range of Gas Permeable Lenses includes the following designs - Aspheric, Tricurve, Multicurve, Keracon, Post Graft and Scleral. A variety of materials are available including Harmony Plus with a DK/t of 97 providing outstanding ocular health for patients.

Specialty Orthokeratology GP Lenses

Gelflex offers an exciting range of specialty reverse geometry gas permeable lenses for patients with a requirement for corneal correction. These include:

  • NightMove® OrthoK for myopic patients - remoulding of the cornea with overnight use of rigid contact lenses crafted specifically to the patient's cornea.
  • AstigMove® OrthoK for astigmatic patients - based on Nightmove technology but for astigmatic patients.
  • ConeMove® - enables practitioners to fit Keratoconic patients with an accurate reverse geometry rigid lens.
  • SuRehabMove® - reverse geometry lenses designed for patients with distorted corneas following trauma or surgery.

Keratoconus - Gelflex offers a number of specialised keratoconic designs based on the patient's corneal topography.

Gelflex Linear Plus Bifocal Lenses

The challenge in developing bifocal contact lenses has always been to ensure that they work in a similar manner to normal bifocal glasses, with no compromise for either the far or near vision. Gelflex has solved the problem with the Gelflex Linear Plus Bifocal Lens with NO JUMP design. This ensures no displacement of the images when changing from the distance to the reading portion of the lens, enabling ready adaptation by the wearer.
Available in a wide range of gas permeable materials, the Gelflex Linear Plus Bifocal Lens is lathe turned on a precision computer controlled lathe for maximum quality and reproducibility.

Custom Made Soft Lenses

Gelflex offers a wide range of spherical and Toric Soft contact Lenses in a variety of materials with different water content including 38%, 49%, 55%, 71%.

The most recent addition to the range of materials is Hygel, a Silicon Hydrogel custom lens with a DK/t of 54 (water content 53%) that offers superior ocular health, wettability and comfort.

Soft lens designs include standard spheres, torics, bifocals, bandage lenses and baby lenses.

Some of the key products within the range of Gelflex Soft lenses include;

Gelflex Bi-Prism Toric Soft Contact Lenses
The Gelflex Bi Prism Toric offers excellent stabilising characteristics with precise axis location and lens marking to aid practitioners and patients. Made to any specification, this lens has a lathe turned toric back surface ensuring optimum optics that combine stability with predictable results.

Gelflex Triton Translating Bifocal Soft Contact Lenses
Designed by Gelflex Founder Don Ezekiel, The Patented TRITON® Translating Soft Bifocal Contact Lens is a translating bifocal lens that incorporates true bifocal lens design, with defined areas for both distance and near vision.
This allows for full and precise optical correction, providing patients with optimal visual acuity at both near and far distances without compromise.
